Volumetric 3-D imaging provides easy to understand three-dimensional patient model displays. Pinnacle™'s Virtual Simulation and Digital Reconstruction Radiography capability allows the clinician to quickly and accurately identify, define, and evaluate the treatment target volume and beam shaping directly on simulator plane films and CT images simultaneously.
The importance of using three dimensional patient information is clear: the more accurate the patient anatomical and dosimetric information, the more precise and accurate the plan analysis and selection. Access to this new and exciting technology provides the radiation therapy community the precise information required to develop and analyze innovative and more aggressive approaches to the local control of the disease process.
Accurate evaluation and geometric presentation of the entire patient volume as well as beam's eye views (BEV) and digitally reconstructed radiographs (DRR) of the actual patient anatomy significantly improves the clinician's ability to appreciate and more precisely localize the anatomical extent of the targeted treatment volume. |
